Shake it off

It was a night of high blood sugars and dancing to Taylor Swift

Shake it off…

I am older in the morning,

run over by a freight train

weary with the morning news and movies like Dear John.

I wept into my hands,

my pup crawled worried up into my lap.

I listened to Steven Curtis Chapman reminding us all that God is in control

and I wish I could tuck it into my dreams that keep me up at night.

The world is about to change, I can feel it.

The beast has been unleashed

and God Bless America is becoming a time on the cross for us now.

A time of crying out “Father where for art thou?”

It is dreary, grey and lonely on the mountain. I am holding my breath.

I am remembering too

Shake it off, shake it off.
